What do you carry in your Boxster??

I occasionally do service calls so I have a doctor's bag of common tools, a high-end Surefire flashlight, a really nice Leatherman multi-tool, phone charger, and a .45 sub-compact in the driver's door.

You?

ekam 03-15-2013 06:17 AM

I have a Leatherman Charge Ti and a SF G2L in the glovebox along with phone charging cables.

And sometimes I carry this.

Until last week, I carried an extra jack, two tool boxes, automotive lightbulb-extension cord thingy, electric air compressor, dual USB charger, GPS, extra oil, extra light bulbs, extra fuses, jumper cables, wheel lock, umbrella, soccer shoes, rags, and a box of extra screws and bolts.

I realized how heavy the car felt so I took everything out except the Porsche tools and my umbrella. Now it feels too light. The wind keeps pushing me around on the highway.

mountainman 03-15-2013 07:46 AM

glock, credit card, bottle of good wine and the wife if she wants to go.

HAUSIDMT 03-15-2013 07:48 AM

Occasionally a German Shepherd the enjoys open top drives. Other then that work gear if she's going to work with me.

Cartel 03-15-2013 07:55 AM

Glock 19 Gen 4

Love this thread, Springfield Armory Microcompact .45. Luckily its only a 6 shot clip, living in NY, I'd never carry more than 7 rounds of course :)

Mark_T 03-15-2013 09:28 AM

I carry the right size torx screwdriver I need to take out the console tray so that I can get at my park brake indicator switch in case it fails and leaves me top-down in the rain. I carry a 24" breaker bar because that lug wench in the tool kit ain't gonna cut it if I get a flat. I also carry a plug kit, a small air compressor, a first aid kit, a roll of paper towel, a blanket, a notebook and pencil,a roach clip, and a camera.

Timco 03-15-2013 09:52 AM

Right on!

My carry piece is a sub compact 1911 .45 Star PD from about 1981. 7+1.

Mark_T 03-15-2013 10:19 AM

It's really nice living in a place where carry pieces simply aren't needed (even if we could get permits, which we can't).

My son was robbed at gun point in Toronto. Seems only the bad Canucks have guns.

Kenny Boxster 03-15-2013 11:31 AM

My bare fists and a can of spinach does fine. Crime/carjackings are unheard of where I live. Honestly, I could only imagine concealed carry if you were in L.A's Skidrow, Detroit, or Tijuana, etc.

My Century 21 insurance card with roadside assistance.

KRAM36 03-15-2013 05:08 PM

Just me and an occasional passenger.

ekam 03-15-2013 06:19 PM

I didn't know so many hairdressers have guns.

particlewave 03-15-2013 06:24 PM

So you guys are hosers and we are hairdressers? Not following. Sorry.

ekam 03-15-2013 06:30 PM

It's the "Boxster owners = hairdressers" joke. :)

But yes we are hosers eh!

Bag of basic tools like I carry in all my vehicles, tow strap, jumper cables, lab safety glasses, wife and dog (mini Australian Shepard) and a P90 .45acp.

schnellman 03-16-2013 05:57 AM

Okay. TRESemme mousse and a .38 special. Damn, I hate being just like everybody else, but the wind can be hell on one's hair.

Is that appropriate in the UK? Doesn't fly here.

You should take it down...there are ladies on this forum.

Mark_T 03-16-2013 03:42 PM

Ever been to England, PW? Their daily newspapers have raunchier pictures than that. I think Pete can be excused for underestimating the prudishness of his North American pals.

That said, Pete, you should probably take it down. There are ladies, not to mention a couple of thumpers, present and we don't want to offend their delicate sensibilities.

(But, for the record, I thought it was awesome!)

Not need, but I have the right and permit to. No big deal.

Idaho Red Rocket 3 03-17-2013 01:51 PM

Guns kept in the fun car ?? Wow it is way to safe living here in Idaho. Only have a gun in the car when going to the range for target shooting.

I keep the factory spare-jack and tools. Then we added a flashlight, snow/ice scraper, emergency snow chains, 2 ball caps, 2 extra pairs of dollar store sunglasses, 2 small blankets for concert going and winter top down driving and maybe about 30 CDs of good driving music.
