Can't stop brake noise, help!
 

So I got new balo rotors and new mintex pads for the front.

I also put, twice, wurth anti squeal spray. The left is ok, but I'm still getting very bad noise from the right pads.

15mph and slowing it gets worse, very metallic, and almost grinding.

What is the possible issues here? Should I get textar pads instead?

Squealing and grinding are two different noises with different causes/fixes.

Squealing with new brakes is caused by the pads vibrating as you slow. There are a number of anti-sqeal products and you may have to try more than one to find one that works.

Grinding with new brakes is more likley caused by the pads not being fully bedded-in - meaning that the pads are still mating to the rotors. For this, the solution is typically to perform a brake pad bed-in procedure. Most pad manufacturers have their own reccomendations.

Without a specific bed in recommendation from Mintex, I'd do 5-6 consecutive hard stops from 50-60mph to 10mph without coming to a complete stop. Then let the pads cool completely. The pads will get hot and start to smell and maybe even smoke a bit. The rotors should have a blue tint of brake pad material to them. After the brakes cool completely, the brakes should work normally.

I did try to bed them twice, and have put 1300 miles on them. I'll try again, but what else could be the issue? Pads were a tight fit putting in, could the pistons be too tight on them?

After twice bedding and 1,300 miles, they should be working fine by now. You could have a caliper piston not fully releasing but hard to say without looking at them. Maybe someone else has some ideas? If not, I'd have a mechanic look at them.

Mine have squealed off and on for the last 1.5 years. I replaced the pads and rotors twice, still there.

I also tried the anti-squeal pads that you put on the backs of the pads. They worked for about 2 days, then back to what has become normal.

It's both front wheels for me, and not consistent either, some days it's the worst noise I've ever heard, other days I don't hear a thing.

It sucks.

Ok, noise won't stop, so I'm thinking of buying textar pads to replace these Mintex.

I bedded them, put anti squeal twice, but no change.

Could it be my rotors (new balo) causing the noise?

If not, will different pads help? Any pads that will 100% not have noise with these balo rotors? Like carbon ceramic ones?

Might want to try this type of anti-squeal. Once it gets hot it is like sticky rubber. Be sure to get the red liquid stuff not the aerosol.

I have a bottle of those - I didn't use it because someone said they tend to melt and get really sticky to the calipers.

Ok, but trying the same thing repeatedly and expecting something different to happen can be an exercise in futility. In this situation, it seems that a product that was really sticky might help, correct? I use that type of anti-sqeal everytime I change my pads (about every 6 months due to heavy track use) without any ill effects.

I have mintex red box on my car. They squealed BAD, had to put anti squeal pad and LOTS of anti squeal compound. It still makes noise when they get really hot bit not a problem for street use.... I hate mintex and will never ever buy one again....
