I'm going to catch heck for this...who can guess what I'm going to do?

De-ambered the car this week, "Porsche Stripe" door decal will be here next week, who can guess what's on the agenda for tonight?

No laughing until the final product is shown :p

Wheels and caliper paint?

jrcui 03-07-2013 03:22 PM

Green calipers and plasti dip wheels?

particlewave 03-07-2013 03:29 PM

Yes and yes. ;)

I know I'll get a lot of flak for the color combo, but I think I'm gonna like it ;)
...or I'm really going to hate it. One way to find out. It's all reversible.

MConte05 03-07-2013 03:37 PM

DAMMIT. This is exactly what I have considered doing. Hopefully it turns out good! Got inspired by that 918 911 didn't ya? ;)

particlewave 03-07-2013 05:26 PM

Yes I did ;)

Making use of that drawer full of plastic bags...

Wait, did you spray the wheels with Plasti Dip???

rondocap 03-07-2013 05:53 PM

Make the calipers red while there is still time to save them!!!!!!

ChrisZang 03-07-2013 06:08 PM

looooooove it!

BruceH 03-07-2013 06:20 PM

Gotta say that I like it! I think it works perfectly on your car.

thstone 03-07-2013 08:43 PM

Awesome! Awesome!

drbodzin 03-07-2013 09:18 PM

I love it! Very unique - do what you like!

986_c6 03-08-2013 12:35 AM

If it will turn out like the photoshop, then it will be awesome!

Eric G 03-08-2013 01:57 AM

Totally cool! I love it when people do mods for themselves and what they like verses following the norm!

rah rah 986 03-08-2013 02:25 AM

So, what do you do with the plasti dip?

This...except for the bit on the floor ;)
Still have to peel off the overspray.

Thanks for the encouragement! One wheel and caliper down...unfortunately, I have to work the next 3 days, so the project must wait :(

Homeboy981 03-08-2013 04:16 AM

Thought I would hate it. It even 'sounds' yucky…but I gotta admit it kind of fits the car.

The look is like little 'eyes peering back at ya'.

Where is a lady's opinion when you need it?

MConte05 03-08-2013 04:37 AM

Good good, you have almost the exact same wheels I do. I was seriously considering doing this for a while on my Arctic Silver. Even painted my wheels a gunmetal grey. I think I settled on doing a bright silver in the end. Still got another month or so before I go ahead and paint.

This is what my crappy photoshop looked like, with my wheels how they are.

Just out of interest. Why the plastidip?

Why not? It's cheap, easy to apply, looks good, and peels off easily.
It's an experiment...if I like the matte black look, I may get them painted down the line. ;)
