Who says Boxsters don't have much room for items.

A 911 muffler fits just fine for delivery! Barely squeezed between dash and seat.

What I notice in that picture is that the top is down. Not in Seattle, :-)

patssle 02-23-2013 12:08 PM

70 degrees in Houston! About to take the 914 out for a drive too.

AKnowles 02-23-2013 06:38 PM

Too funny. I just sent a text to my daughter who said my car was impractical and coukdn't carry anything. Here's what I drove home with today so I could mount some subwoofers in the door ...

Try a 10' length of downspout. One end in the passenger footwell and bungee'd to the rollbar.
It nearly looked like a flagpole sticking up out of the interior.
The Cayman pilot thought it was hilarious. Yes, lots of people were pointing and laughing on that trip.

Did you know our PCars can handle 4-50lb. bags of dog food?

I crunched one bag in the Pizza Oven in back. Stuffed 2 bags in the frunk (with a spare tire) and one on floor/passenger seat. Still could have fit another one too. That is more than a Honda or Mercedes.

So….now I take the Porsche or Pickup truck to pick up dog food!

….OR at least I used to! My car has been in the air waiting for me to find time to do the IMS….I going through PCar withdraws! Driving a truck sucks!

Porsche Pete 02-25-2013 12:15 PM

Are you sure that wouldnt be a pull by the cops..You are obstructing your view..

AKnowles 02-25-2013 12:19 PM

Not for me. I had a clear view of the side mirror and an unobstructed view of what was next to me. Unless there was a unicycle keeping pace with me. :)

Nimbus117 02-25-2013 12:27 PM

I bought two rear tyres, tried everything trying to get even one in the car to get fitted and failed.

Put them in the trunk and use a bungee to secure them. To do four tyres put one in the frunk and the other in the drivers seat. I have done this many times.

Nice color!

I was driving by a yard sale, and saw a bulletin board that was requested by one of the kids. Stopped to buy it. Didn't have a stinking dollar. Not one. Had to tell them to hold it. I drove about 2 miles to an ATM. Got the stupid dollar. Drove back in my fancy Porsche, (the people are obviously thinking every penny has gone into my car, since I had to go to an ATM for a single dollar) paid for bulletin board. Everyone is watching as it quickly becomes apparent there is no way this thing will fit in my car. I get in, lower the roof (the audience is enjoying this) and try again. I can kinda get it wedged at an angle in the passenger seat. The right view is completely obscured. I pretend I have a patch over that eye and drive accordingly.

Fast forward several months. Godforsaken bulletin board is still in garage, and the kid hasn't touched it.

:ah:

As soon as I posted this I thought it would probably fit if I removed the spare wheel. Not too keen on the drivers seat idea, do you climb inside them to drive? Probably still look slimmer than this couple I saw in Disney last year, lol.

Joe B 02-27-2013 04:58 AM

I found out my skis fit just fine on the passenger side (top up of course; it is still winter) :D.

My snowboard fits just fine in passenger side with all my gear. Top up
Found that out on my way up to the bay area to go to Lake Tahoe.
I didn't take my car to the snow tho.

pierre shags 02-27-2013 11:54 AM

Ten sacks of concrete mix in the trunk & frunk.

Oh yeah... Passenger seat (other things on my mind at the time I was typing). I place a towel over the PASSENGER SEATto protect it. I'm not driving too far to the tire shop, maybe two to three miles, so a tire in the PASSENGER SEAT is not a big deal.

silver-S 01-06-2014 09:36 PM

I routinely carry my music rig to rehearsals in the Boxster: two guitar cases in the passenger seat (head ends in the footwell), pedalboard and backpack in the frunk, amp in the trunk. I don't even have to lower the top!

jb92563 01-07-2014 06:08 AM

Ive had 4 new tires in the car taking them to be mounted. No problem at all.

2 front(215) tires in the passenger seat, 1 rear(255) tire in the frunk and 1 rear(255) tire in the Trunk, although I could not close the trunk, but I was only going 5 miles.

Did some work on one of our rental condos over the holidays. Here are some more items that will fit in a Boxster!

1. 12" compound mitre saw (frunk with spare tire removed)
2. Wet saw (frunk)
3. 18"x18" travertine (5 boxes, could have done about 8) Very effective for lowering the car!
4. 12 foot sticks of baseboard (top down of course). I think I could go to 14 ft without an issue.

I just can't seem to figure a way to get the 60" LED TV I saw at Sam's to fit...

evan9eleven 01-07-2014 12:49 PM

Amateurs! Try a flat screen TV! :D

47" goes if you leave the carboard box behind. The 60" isn't happening dghii!

You must have a compact amp setup. I don't think I'd get my 4x12 cab and 19-space rack in the trunk.

Dunno, I was thinking of strapping the 60" flatscreen to the top....what could possibly go wrong?

Hey next time drop me a PM- I snowboard 2-3x per week, we can take my Subie! Horrible year huh? I was at my local hill (Bear Valley) today- hardly any coverage :/

Nine8Six 01-08-2014 06:34 AM

I've once hidden my rottie in the frunk in fear of the police shooting him. He bit a girl at the training club he was staying at.

One phone call, had to drive (race?) there quick, hide the dog safely, talk the girl out of trouble ($800 in medical fees later btw). Rush!

Cops never shown up at the end but I couldn't take any chance. The 986's frunk was perfect in these circumstances. If the cops would have turned up... then yurk, any dog that bites gets brutally executed (gun shots) in front of you in this country :/

That Porsche frunk would have saved my dog's life ;)

jdlmodelt 01-12-2014 05:21 PM

When you put the spare tire behind the passenger seat you can fit a tuba in the front trunk. :)

pothole 01-12-2014 05:56 PM

I've had seven fully boxed PC monitors in my Box - 22 inch to 27 inch models.
