Dash and Radio Questions

1. When you turn the key to the on position - it gives a countdown from 5 where the clock is suppose to be. What is that for?

2. The radio gets louder as you drive faster. Is there a way to disable this feature? I can't seem to find it.

Thanks.

The countdown is for an oil level measurement-the radio has speed sensitive volume check online or in the owners manual for the radio guide it gives instructions on adjusting it, I turned mine off

The countdown is part of the oil level measurement system. After the countdown the oil level indicator will display the oil level.

The audio level chage at different speeds is controlled by the GAL on the audio system. Here are instructions on how to change the settings:

If you have the stock radio I have, keep scrolling through the "sound" menu past the bass, treble, balance, fade, and the last option is the speed sensitive sound. I forget what my radio calls it, but it's the last option.
