Car Wash Day

Just thought I'd post some pics while it's clean, which should last for about 12 minutes. I know forum members love pics, plus I wanted to brag on the beautiful weather here. Hubby's Carrera Cab is the black car. Yes, we do race each other when no one is looking. :D

Lol! :D

They are on their way to me, as we speak! The orange against the red paint is bugging me now . . .

The red looks great!

very nice.

I broke down and got my car washed the other day. A little too dirty to do the waterless wash.
I stopped on the side of the road to dress the tires. I ended up doing a full detail! LOL. Yeah I keep every possible detail product in the trunk...
I even cleaned the seats with 1Z leather (awesome stuff), used sealant on the my recently painted wheels, Griots carnauba spray on the paint. Then I stopped at the Auto store (2 for 1 on Castrol Edge at Advance Auto) and right away a guy comes over to compliment the car. I need to detail the car more often.

I love my Guards Red with the tan interior. But you're right, it looks so much better now with the clear side markers. Your Boxster looks great.

Looking good! Guards Red is so nice if well polished, can almost dive into it. Oh btw, did you find the Sport Exhaust button?

Sorry, I didn't reply.:( No, I don't have that button, thus no Sport Exhaust. I'm probably going to have to bump that thread again, I think I've narrowed down the issue.

I think Guards Red is the best manufactured red out there. It has a purity of hue that you really don't see anywhere else. Remarkable.

Sweet! Mine is garage bound in the snow...

I noticed something about Porsche's.

It occured to me that you just don't see much advertising for Porsche cars with lovely girls sprawled all over them.

I wonder why?

1) The models look like EX wives?

2) The geezers who buy them don't notice girls anymore?

3) Porsche buyers are more dignified and don't like cheapening stuff with T&A ?

4) Its straight women who decide what Porsche to buy.

5) Once you have a Porsche you will have too many beautiful girls hanging around and that may be a problem for you?

6) No model would be caught dead posing with a Porsche because the Porsche is better looking?

BTW: A fresh washed Porsche of any color looks fantastic, but the red my favorite.

I let the GF influence my color decision, when she said Black is sexier than red, how could I argue with that logic. :D

jb92563: My revised answer; #3 and #6.

Besides, on those other car ads, the girls are there to distract you from the ugliness of the car . . .

Your hubby would have found it strange if you answered 1, 2, 5 :) though he probably would not object to #5

I spent a couple years preping cars for commercials & print ads. If you notice Porsche rarely does "mainstream" ads, normally focusing on enthusiast magazines & shows. 10 years ago Porsche would not pay for product placement of their vehicles, but due to the surge in placements lately I suspect this may have changed (VW). Last month at the PCA Tech Tactics West Jeff Zwart was the highlight of the day with his show of his Porsche photography for ads dating back 20 years including the Family tree Panamera launch commercial featuring 20+ "significant" vintage Porsche race cars. Jeff said he was able to gather these cars by making 3 phone calls + the $7million dollar insurance rider for the shoot. Jeff Zwart is the directer for the ongoing Cadillac ATS commercial as well as the current recordholder for lowest time accending Pikes Peak in a production car GT2RS.
I used to work with a guy handling the Hyundai fleet. He always said the crappier the car the more you have to advertise it.

Number 5? How do you think he got me?

Just kidding, it is after all, a car.

It was the diamond earrings that made me pay attention . . . :D
