Will 18" wheel with 285/30 and 37 offset fit on 986 with 1"drop?
As title says
What'd do you guys think? I'm running 46 offset now but would like to go wider for more aggressive look It's 99' 986 |
No way on the front. My car is lowered about 1" and I recently tried fitting some 265 StarSpecs, which actually measure at 272 mm section width that I had laying around on 43mm offset wheels. They looked like they sort of fit at first until I turned the steering wheel only about 1/4 way to full lock, and the tire hit the body. Not the fender liner, but the body. A 37mm offset would be even worse. I would think you need about a 50 mm offset to fit a 265 tire.
On the rear, it might work depending on the actual section width. My measurements indicate we need a 43-47mm offset to avoid contact with the wheel well, so I have doubts about a 37mm offset working. |
I'm obviously asking about rear wheel
No turning there I'm running this setup now with 46 offset with room to go farther(I think) |
Yeah, I figured that out after posting initially, so see edit above. The 46 offset seesm to be ideal for the 285 tire you are running. So, go take some measurements.
