Throttle Body - what am i doing wrong!?!?
1 Attachment(s)
Hi Guys
I have a 2001 Boxster Tip. I'm trying to take the throttle body out for cleaning but i can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. It is slightly different than the one Pedro shows on his website since i have the e-gas. In my picture I have undone everything with a green circle. I can't figure out if i have to or how to remove the hose with the red circle. My thought is i want to remove the throttle body together with the T and then take them apart later. Is that not right? Help!!!!! |
Overly complicated approach, try it this way:
http://www.renntech.org/forums/tutorials/article/59-diy-throttle-body-cleaning/ You can also remove the four screws holding the body itself to the intake, and then spray it clean off the car. |
There is a nut holding the throttle body down, did you remove it?

Squeeze here and on the opposite side and pull outward on the connector.

perfect. Worked. Everything is back together. thanks for the help. Rough idle on cold start persist. i guess i'll have to replace O2 sensor.

Could be a variety of thighs causing rough idle. Check for any error codes first before you go replacing anything. Did you clean the maf? Did you try running the car with maf disconnected? Only for very short period tho.

Check the sleeve on the passenger side there is a small vacuum tube almost on the bottom of the sleeve maybe you didn't get it reconnected. At least there is on the 2003 and 2004
