removing cup holders

i was thinking of removing my cupholders, as i never use them and one pops out and is hard to keep back in when i hit a bump, and i see new ones are pretty pricey especially if they are never gonna be used-is there any kind of fill panel to use or what are my options after i pull them out, does that whole piece come out or just the cupholders themselves?http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1357749503.jpg

removing the cup holders and relocating the climate control is a good way to get some extra leg room...
