Canadian driving licence

hi there this is a question concerning Canadian drivers really, one of my staff is off to your country early next year and hope to pass his driving licence while there, but he heard that after having your license you have to pay each year a fee, is this true? and for what do you have to pay? here the licenses are valid until you are like 70 years old!
