Where is the engine number located?

Hi all

I'm looking to buy a Boxster. Where can I look to find the engine number?

I am aware the VIN/chassis number is found in the front boot (on the left under the interior lining).

Thanks for the help. I couldn't find anything on google etc

Wouldn't the engine number be located on the engine? Sorry, had to go there...I apologize.
