Capt Ahab Gets His Fish

Thought I had this one bought back on Labor Day w/e but she wiggled off the hook. Got an email from the owner in early Nov asking if I was still interested. He was more willing to sell this time (even lowered his price $2500) so we agreed to do the deal. He wanted to have the title at the time of sale (I did too), so we waited while Porsche Financial got it to him. That took until last Sat. Was the longest 3 wks waiting for it. But I picked her up today.

2008 Cayman S Sport - #614 of 700. 7500 mi and loaded. When I first saw it for sale, I wasn't sure about the color. I had seen one 3 yrs ago but didn't think too much about it. Then I saw this one in person in Aug and was hooked. I was very sad the deal fell through in Sep. But I had a feeling there might be a second chance.

The picture doesn't do the color justice. The sun washes out the vibrantcy. I know the color isn't for everyone, but I like it. Now I have Easter eggs in my garage. I'll try taking some more pics tomorrow.

The sad part is I must sell Carmen. She's been a great car but I don't have room and can't afford 3 Porsches.

Now I need to go look at the CSS some more.

That is one fantastic looking car! Have you set the Lazboy up in the garage yet?

WhipE350 12-03-2012 07:37 PM

Well we finally get to see why Carmen has to go...very very nice! I don't like black rims but they are perfect with that awesome color! Wow she (he?) is beautiful. So did Carmen just drop 2500 too LOL...just kidding.

Enjoy the new ride in your almost brand new 2008...lucky guy.

Very Nice, Congrats!!!!

When I had multiple P-cars in the garage (for all of one week) I spent three nights out there with a glass of scotch and a cigar just staring, even took a few pics.......Enjoy!!!!

Congrats, sweet ride :-)

Topless 12-03-2012 08:20 PM

Cool! I could see a Cay S in my future.

Ghostrider 310 12-03-2012 09:37 PM

Nice that color combo. wheel package and graphics make it look like a R, personally I think it looks badass! I'm psyched for you and Chris, those two cars are sweet and both should feel very quick to both of you.

Johnny Danger 12-04-2012 11:33 AM

Groovy color !

husker boxster 12-04-2012 03:02 PM

Whip - I can't knock 2500 off Carmen but there is some wiggle room.

Below are more pics. Thought I'd try with less sunlight and some camera adjustments but the color still doesn't come thru in it's true form. Just think the green of an LED stoplight.

She has:

Sport Chrono
PSE
Sport Seats
Bi-xenon
Full leather
19" wheels
Heated seats
Sport wheel
Alcantara wheel, shifter, e-brake
Auto climate control
Bose Premium sound
Rain sensing wipers (forgot these)

CPO until Aug 2013

Very cool!

While I had my 3 I had a artist paint a picture of the three of them together at the beach. A friend of mine got me a bumper sticker for all three that said "My other car is a Porsche" LOL we only put it on one and it was able to peel it off without any damage. Enjoy the three while you can

Husker,

I wanted to chime in once more and commend you for your daring. Very few people have the sense of style and sophistication that you have repeatedly demonstrated when it comes to choosing colors. Not only do I like your apprecition for the bold and unique, I admire your individually and self confidence in doing so. Just try and get something speed yellow in there at some point !

Brillant... I love the color! I have been seriously thinking about nixing the Boxster for a Cayman... I just love the look... not sure about losing the convertible tho... You have the best....one of each. :) i don't usually like black wheels but with the green and door logo it's perfect.

I'm not big on black wheels either but now I have 2 cars with them! They do provide a nice break to the eye assault of the body color.

I'm generally not big on the side stickers either but it works on this one else there might be too much green. I do like the Cayman R decal.

papasmurf 12-05-2012 10:35 AM

That is awesome....Signal Green and Signal Orange are my favorite colors and I am wanting to find a cayman s eventually in either color. Only thing I would prefer that your car does not have is the 19" carrera sport rims.

Flavor 987S 12-05-2012 10:46 AM

Very nice! I've only ever seen that color on a GT3. Never on the Cayman. Cool.

Yeah, me too. That goes double considering the fact that you live in Nebraska, where, in some people's minds, driving a Porsche might be seen as slightly radical. Let alone driving a brightly painted, dayglow-colored Porsche. Let alone driving TWO of them! I speak from the viewpoint of one who's more familiar with Hastings---home of flat land and open spaces, Sandhill cranes and the Platte, corn and soybeans, and...my in-laws) than Omaha, where I'm sure there are a LOT more P-cars to be seen. Still, it is Nebraska, not LA. Do any of your neighbors think you're a little...different when it comes to your choices in personal transportation?

thstone 12-05-2012 11:43 AM

Congrats! The Cayman S is, in my humble opinion, the best car that Porsche makes. Bar none.

And I love the color and the graphics! I hate boring.

Believe it or not, there's an orange CSS on ebay right now down in Miami. Quite overpriced but they don't come up very often. I saw two orange CSSs late last yr but wasn't in a position to buy at that time. I wanted to get an orange one for a matched set. Saw this one on ebay while I was waiting for the title on the green one. Felt like I was making the correct decision getting the green one, so I have no regrets. Papa, I know you said eventually but thought I'd throw the bone out there.
