shifter boot

I'm going to replace the shift knob when I install my short shift kit and want to know if there were certain years/trim levels that came with seperate boots and knobs. If so, what is the boot attached to. Mine has the one piece combo. I'm sure I can get a boot through wheelskins or someplace but not sure if I'm going to need a collar on the lever for the boot to attach to or what. Not sure what I'm getting for a knobyet, I prefer just a plain round billet knob.

I know at least through 2001 it was a one piece unit, which means it is most likely a one-piece through at least 2003. As for the latest iteration 987, I don't know for certain.

I'm guessing you will have to buy a separate knob and either modify your existing boot, find an aftermarket replacement, or make one yourself.
