driving in snow
 

Hi, I'm new here.
I was hoping someone could give me some feedback on driving their boxster in the snow and other foul weather. I'm looking to purchasing a boxster but I'm not sure just how much a labor of love that would be with my Michigan winters.

I use my Boxster as a daily driver, year round and I live north of Boston. You need the following: hardtop with its heated rear window (the plastic window in the Boxster is definitely not suitable for winter driving) and a set of 16 inch wheels mounted with snow tires. At the first sign of winter, I mount the hard top and changes the wheels to the winter snows and away I go. The Boxster handles great in winter conditions. Heavy duty winter type mats are another good idea.

Thanks for the help William. I'm glad to hear I'm not 'crazy' for wanting to drive a boxster year round. One more question though. Do you think the PSM would be a help or just not worth the drain on the boxster's spirit. Thanks again.

I have heard great things about PSM. My understanding is that you can always turn it off with a switch on the dash. So, if you find a car with that option it sounds like something worth having. My car is not so equiped and I have no problems.

Check out <A HREF="http://www.986forum.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=386">this prior posting</A> for my PSM experience - IMHO it is no "spirit drain"...

In any case you need wintertires, I've been up to the Swiss/French alps with TC and 17" Summer tires....
