OT: Land Rover LR2 - Good, Bad, or Indifferent?

A friend of mine has found an LR2 that she likes but doesn't know anything about them. She asked me and I don't know either. I know in the past they weren't very reliable but has that changed? What do our esteemed Boxster owners know about them?

Not that it matters, but the vehicle is at a Buick dealer and they've had it a long time and are motivated to sell. Omaha isn't a big LR market, so it might not be a big deal that they've had it so long. Or are we Omahans smart as a fox?

Land Rovers have a long standing well deserved reputation of being as high maintenance as any vehicle. I believe LR2 is the new name for the old Discovery. Unless you can find evidence to the contrary about whatever year LR2 you are looking at it will make a Boxster seem like a economy car.

We've owned two LR3's (not the 2's) and we LOVED them! But, I would NEVER own a LR out of warrantee! :)
