Anyone removed their BOXSTER emblem on the trunk?

I snagged the BOXSTER emblem on the rear trunk when washing it the other night and the "B" is peeled up just enough to annoy me. I tried gluing it down but since it is basically the foam that has split and since the plastic emblem is now "bent" it just won't stay. I can live without the emblem but was wondering what might be the best way to remove.

Anyone done this before? Any tips or tricks would be appreciated.

kinda funny because the same thing happened to me yesterday

just use some dental floss and take your time and be gentle. you will need something after to clean off the adhesive residue - goo be gone will do the trick, but make sure to wipe any residue ASAP.

I've heard of some people using a blow dryer to heat and and pull it off, but I haven't personally tried it.

Good luck,

Use body solvent to loosen the glue. I like the floss idea as well. Whatever you do, do not put wax or sealer under the new one as if you do, it will not stick.

Use dental floss and a little bit of heat from a hair dryer. If you get it started just right you can slowly pull the Emblem off without any residue to clean afterward! Then...get a chrome emblem and dress that ass end up! :D

Does this happen a lot? Should I order my car without the Boxster emblem?

There's a couple of earlier threads on this topic, I'm sure you can search for it. A couple tips though - I left my car out in the sun for a while and that did well for heating up the emblem and softening the glue.

It seems to be a pretty common problem, but I imagine the snags come mostly when you pay a car wash service to wash it. A careful owner would probably be more gentle on the emblem!

Once I removed it I was really pleased at how easy it was.

One misty cool morning recently I found a fine layer of dew on the car - and the old "Boxster" logo stood out in the dew. I wish I had taken a picture!

Spooky....

It's the ghost of your old emblem coming out to get you!

I actually took mine off on purpose. You have a beautifully designed rear of a car and a flimsy piece of plastic for the emblem. Even my GMC has a nicer emblem. The dental floss and Goo Gone worked fine....

mine broke off partialy and it was just the excuse I needed to upgrade to a chrome look one from teh 550 special edition boxster.

Hmmmm... looking at the top picture I've noticed that my S has drifted to the right so that its no longer brushing against my Boxster. How'd that happen?
