Time to get the new wheels - will the 996 TT offset fit?
 

I will be collecting the Boxster racing car from the body shop next week (I hope), and the next phase is to get new wheels.

Along with fixing some small on track damage from this season, they have widened the car by 2" on each side at the front and 3" on each side at the rear so that i can fit wider wheels and tyres.

I was considering picking up a set of used 996 TT wheels, but I am not sure if the offset on the 996 TT is the same or not as the 2001 Boxster S?

Anyone know if the 18x11 from the 996TT has the same offset as the normal 2001 Boxster S, or will I have to run with large spacers to make them clear the suspension?

Standard Boxster 18X9 has 52mm offset. 996 18X10 has 65mm offset. I don't know what the 11" wheel offset is but I'm guessing you will need minimum 1" spacer & frequent wheel bearing replacement.

Great, that answers my question then - the 996 turbo wheels will not work and I need to have a set of wheels made.

Now I just need to work out the offset and other related numbers so I can get the wheels made.

Are you using aftermarket adjustable coilovers ?

Yes I am, and they are quite wide. I will have to account for them as well when I do my selection.

After much discussions, I think the only option for me is to have wheels made to fit my car.

996tt wheels will not . 993tt wheels offset fits nicely. My friend bought these for his 996 and they did not fit so I got them. http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/b...AD1C4D955E.jpg
