Ride height
Hi,
need a quick favor: I have PSS9 and my car is riding too low. I want to raise the ride height, which can easily be done with the PSS9 Could someone with a stock suspension and 18" wheels do me a favor and measure the distance from the wheel arch to the floor for front and rear (see attached picture what I mean). For my adjustment I am shooting for the middle between stock and what I currently have. (and yes I will also do the alignment after that) http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1351349239.jpg My current ride height is: front 24 3/4 rear 24 7/8 Thanks |
You may want to list tire sizes and current tire pressure to give yourself an accurate comparison
|
225/40/18 32 psi front
265/35/18 34 psi rear |
with row m030 kit:
F = 26.0 inch R = 26 3/8 |
26 1/4 front
26 3/8 rear |
Thanks guys

My suspension setup guys suggested that fender height is not a relevant measurement. Corner balance is what matters. My fender heights w/full gas tank, no driver: LF 24" RF 23 31/32" LR 24 7/8" RR 24 1/2 It's pretty low in front. |
@ Topless:
100% agreed, the car is corner balanced, but simply too low for a daily driver. So I just want to raise all 4 corners equally so I can clear the speedbumps at my work (currently I am bottoming out if I go faster that 5 mph). |
Chris can you traverse them on a diagonal and save your set up?
Try putting one front over at a time by zigging and zagging....this also prevent the chassis flopping down as front and rear axles go over |

My 2000 Box S with H & R red color springs and 18" wheels with 265-35-18 etc is TOO LOW and I'm removing and installing the original USA M030 springs that came on the car tomorrow.Camber is crazy too.The look is sweet but the ride is too rough and tires will not last like this.Current is as follows:
Drivers side F24 1/4 R25 Pass side F24 1/2 R24 7/8 |
Thanks for all the tips. I followed the instructions here Bilstein PSS9 - How to adjust ride height - 6speedonline.com Forums and increased the ride height by 2 cm = 3/4" all around. I might add another cm to it
so currently I am at F 25 1/2 R 25 3/4 |
Got my Box S back today after removal of H and R Red Springs and install of my original USA M030 and all settings back to stock.Springs will definitely settle out after I guess about 100 miles.Much better ride and no more dragging and the only loss of accuracy appears to be when pushing at about 85%. Added maybe 1 and 3/4 height.Like this a lot.P got it right with USA M 030 IMHO!
