Water pump or crank pulley

Bala Registered User Join Date: Dec 2011 Location: Long Island, NY Posts: 518	Water pump or crank pulley I have a typical water pump bearing/pulley kind of noise. It is affected by change in RPM. I removed the belt and it is still tied to RPM. I use a hose to my ear and it seems to be coming just around the crank pulley but not 100% sure. Any ideas whether it could be the water pump? I'm not sure if it still is the original pump and the car has 92k miles.
