I'm interested in finding an answer to this, too.

I have a patch on the front bumber where the clearcoat is off. I showed it to my dealer service and he went on to point out a few paint imperfections that are normally really hard to notice... but it was enough to conclude that my previous owner had the front bumber repainted (apparently poorly).
