Yes it's the 987 air box.

I'll make a note to grab a pic of the air box.

Pedro's instructions were for the standard air box. It did take a lot of head scratching and a trip to Home Depot to make it work, because of the difference.
Great I want to know how the air box fits in the 986 engine bay specifically
at the left rear corner where there is a muffler chamber adjacent to the 90 degree bend in the airbox outlet ....it is a mystery to us

Apparently the wall tightens up in the 986. Just looking at your engine bay opening I am noticing sheet metal hem differences. The more engine bay pictures the better.....after the shampoo!

If you are able to spot part numbers of the airbox and MAF housing that would be great too
