Installing onto top of Engine
I have sat with my new subwoofer for 2 weeks now. I love it behind my seat. It is sitting on top of the space above the engine. I need to mount it with the kit the speaker came with. Can I screw it right into the carpet ontop of the engine. What is underneath that. Is there any wood. Does anyone have a better suggestion of how to mount the speaker so it does not shift and stay put incase I am in a accident. If not the speaker might catapult into the back of my head or out into the air if the top is down.
thanks |
I don't think there is much wood in your car dude! It's a freaking Porsche, not an ark!

Hi,
What you're looking to do is doable. Just put the top in the Service position and remove the Engine cover. Then I suspect that some good Nuts & Bolts, along with 2" Fender Washers would do the trick. Hope this helps... Happy Motoring!...Jim'99 |
You got a Porsche, and its made to go fast. Its not a "subs'n dubs" ride.

Hey maybe you could try to velcro it to the carpet! That way you will not have to screw anything into your car.

Hi,
I though of using velcro. But I am still concerned if I am in a accident going even 40mphs that the sub will end up through the back of my head. I would like to brace it down |
You should be able to bolt it to the engine cover as said, useing a large area washer(fender washer).
I'm curious, with the sub back their you can put the top up and down? Richard |
How big are the subs? and how did u get it to fit in there? Does the top still go up and down?

Put the sub in the SUV, and drop the top in the Box, You can't gangsta lean & shift at the same time. |
