water leak - not clogged drains

I have a water leak on the driver's side that is coming down from the sill area where the trunk and hood release are. It's contained in that area only and seems to be soaking down from there to the floor. It's not clogged drains.

Any ideas? I thought it might be a door seal problem but can't find any tears.

Easy to check - have a helper sit in the drivers seat while you take a water hose and spray slowly around the door. When the helper sees/feels water coming in, you've found the suspect location and can investigate further to find the exact cause.

I had a similar problem in my BMW 325i with the rear seat floor wet and it turned out that the rubber door seal was no longer sealing even though it wasn't torn (just old and inflexible).

Did you resolve that leak, sfoster13? I have the exact same problem - lifted the carpets, removed panels, etc. and I've water flowing in from around the drain tray behind the seat belt mechanism. Cannot pinpoint the true cause though, so may have to remove more bits, like the roof. Driving me nuts!!
