Black center caps

Message in at Pelican but I am looking for the center caps for my 17 in wheels. I am going to have them powder coated blAck (the wheels) and cant seem to find a set of black center caps. Any good ideas? Pelican has everything but black that i could see.

Thanks

You can buy a good set on eBay for cheap, tape off the crests and have them sprayed black .

Thanks for the replys! @GUVS - there was no problem powder coating them and then sticking them in an oven? No warping or anything?

I think that I can answer your question. Based on the method involved with powder coating, unless the crest are actually removable, I don't think it's an effective way to do the center caps. I would recommend using a traditional paint process, wherein the crests are taped off and sprayed accordingly. I did this with a set of center caps a few years back to go along with a set of wheels that were powder coated black . In the end, there was no discernible difference between the two paint processes, and they came out perfect .

Did you try searching ebay for "porsche black center caps"? I got 40+ results spanning several different designs.

I purchased a set from Bumper Plugs a few years back. They were very nice, but ex$$pensive ! Next time around, I purchased a set of oem caps on eBay for next to nothing, and had them painted .

I actually ordered a set for my new wheels off ebay. They look good ok. The aftermarket set i purchased had a larger crest than the ones on my stock cup 2 wheels

Any of the methods mentioned will work or you could buy the best center caps on the planet from Boothe Design, but you'd have to spend 100 each for them, even more for the ones than maintain the crest in the upright position as the wheel turns.
