Look at the stuff that was behind my air ducts
During the week I found some time to remove my front bumper to clean my radiators. It was dirty. Among the leaves were plastic pieces, cigaret buds, and paper. Over all not to bad but definitely worth cleaning. Also to my surprise I found I had bent my passenger side condenser from when I got a flat, detailed explanation in one of my past threads. Here are the pics.

Yup...mine was the same. I bought the car when it was 10 years old and they had never been clean. I used mine for potting soil :)

Is it hard to remove the bumper ?
|
not really. it took me about 1 hr to remove while taking pictures and some film. Hardest part was the wheel liner clips. That is because i was pulling on them wrong. But I don't know if i will ever get around to posting any videos, any way not something deadly.

Best to hit those plastic liner clips with WD40 the night before you disassemble, makes it alot easier. Also, spray down the radiators / condensers with Simple Green then rinse off, helps to get the gunk off. A pretty easy diy project

Are there any write-ups you used to take the bumper off? seems like something I should do fairly soon as I'm nearing 60k miles.
Thanks |

Your right side radiator looks like it took a hit and got bent. Keep an eye on it for leaks. did you clean between the condenser and radiator? |

No I didn't clean between the radiator so I will be pulling the bumper off again and hopefully film it. |

Has anyone used commercial residential AC coil cleaner on the radiators? I would assume it would not damage aluminum.

don't use "The Pink Stuff"; it's an acid. Green is okay
