Best OEM Boxster color
Most cars out there have one or two colors, that are either rare and sought after, or just the most favorable color the car came in.
I am curious what other 986 owners think the most sought after color for these cars are? Just exterior color, no interior stuff.

I think Viola Metallic is probably the most rare color.

When the car's were originally made (986), artic silver was probably the most popular and common (it was a no cost option I think too) and I guess that somewhere around 50-60% of boxsters are some shade of silver. Lapis blue seems to be another somewhat common color IME. If I was going to pick a color based on what I would want, it would be speed yellow or rainforest green.

I have to agree strongly with Guards red or I wouldn't have bought one. I also like the aqua blue metallic.

i love my seal grey. I'm more of a white car guy, but i really don't care for the 986's in white, so seal grey is the next best in my eye.

I have to say that black is the best color only because mine is black. Devilish to keep clean. If I have a choice it would be some kind of blue or BRG(Brit rac. green). Yellow or bright red shouts "look at me". There is no wrong color as the Boxster looks good in any color!
Actually BRG would be the best but I would think that it is not OEM.

Any shade of silver is appropriate because of the history of German Racing Silver. But for my money, it's gotta be Guards Red.

Guards Red. I also like the slightly darker shade of red (don't remember the color name).

I know I'll get it for this, but...I think red Boxsters look like cheap Miata's. I saw one in person and opted for Glacier White instead.
Sorry! Just my opinion.
Of course, Glacier White IS the best, though. Just ask me. I used the scientific method to deduce this.
I mean, just check out the sexy avatar...undeniable.

If I was prosperous enough to be able to order a new Porsche now (and @ A$150,000 before adding any additional cost extras, which I'm not), I would get Viper Green, gloss black wheels and black leather with silver stitching......
Now put that in your minds eye and smile !!!

I have the window sticker for mine. For the 2000 model year there was a charge for arctic silver metallic. I think it was $895, but I'm not positive. It is a great color, but fairly common. I think seal grey looks good too.

Any metallic paint, which includes arctic silver, is an option.
No charge for non-metallic paint like white, black, yellow or red.
