20s on a 2006 Boxster S
Hello Everyone,
My 2006 boxtser s should be arriving any day now and I am debating putting 20s or 19s on the car. Anyone had any problems driving a boxster with 20s? This is my first porsche Thanks |
My guess is the ride will be very very harsh indeed! I would try to ride in one that has already done this before you drop your money on the conversion.
Good luck. |
I definately would not put either wheel size on the car. It will mess up the handling and suspension geometry of the car.
|
What, praytell, would you put on it? Cayenne rims?
|
I would stay with the 19s... or even the 18s... Low-profile wheels _are_ heavier than taller ones, additionally it will ruin riding comfort. :)
|
19" CarreraS without PASM is fine for lumpy British roads
Tried one for 250 miles yesterday to convince myself it was the right choice. Of course 18s would be slightly softer ride, but don't have the same visual impact |
Go 20s if it fits, Who cares about ride comfort when you are pulling girls.
Ride comfort you will be pulling old guys Bling, you will be pulling Girls |
The question may well be, "do I really want to be with a girl who is turned on by large wheels!"
Hmmmm! Quote:

How about a nice SUV? Ugly, fat-assed women are attracted to HUGE, 24" rimmed SUV's. |
Thanks for the good laugh!

If you are going to go for 20's make sure you get the spinning kind in chrome. :) Spinning 20" blades are all the rage and it drives the ladies wild ;)
|
Man those spinning caps are just awful. Tons of them here in SOCAL.
:ah: |
^lol. Yeah I know, but if you are going to ruin the performance/ride of the car with 20's you might as well go all the way!
|
Spinning hubcaps are much better than spinner wheels and much cheaper! why wait on tire rack when you can just go to Wal Mart, maybe even the New Orleans Wal Mart if you hurry.
|
Sorry had to pile on there.
Seriously, 20s might look bada$$ and be good for just cruising. Then just use your old wheels for times when you need the btter ride or lighter combo. |
Comparison?
Is there any comparison pictures?
I am wondering how they will compare (visually). |
