Key Ignition Beeping-Stuck

When I pull my key out of the ignition, It still beeps as if it thinks I left the key in there.

When I try to put my key back in, I can't. It is as if something is in the way. I wiggle it around for a while until the beeping stops or until I get the key inside.

igniton switch bad... likely just electrical portion. Part < $10 if bought online (auto haus az dot com) or <$50 if bought locally at Audi or VW dealer.

Be careful b/c battery drain will occur very quickly until replaced.

Here's a DIY link courtesy of Pedro

Good luck

Key Ignition Beeping-Stuck

I had a difficult time turning the ignition key, so i replaced the steering lock assembly and the rear electrical portion. The only part transferred was the piece the key goes into. Now it beeps as described in this post. Has anyone else had this misfortune?

I did have to take a hacksaw to the old aluminum piece to get the old lock out. I hope I didn't break the lock.
