Loose Hose?

I have a 2000 boxster, and last week my car had an absurd amount of water under the seats, so I cleaned all the drain ports, ripped up the carpet, re-glued all the wet broken seals in the car front and back, and when i was up front, to the left of the battery there was a loose clear, semi thin hose. It had a black "L" shaped fitting on it and didn't seem to plug into anywhere. Is this hose just a air hose for the water tray, or is it supposed to be something else? I also have the snaking suspicion that my car is still letting water in, but i do not know for sure, could this have to do with the hose?

-Thanks for the help.

It is the vent hose for the battery; it should plug into the rear of the battery (if the battery is the correct unit).

Noahvel - did you find the reason for the water leak?
