Switch Removal

Just purchased the little storage bin to replace the ash tray and can not remove the switches (ash tray hloder is already out)...anyone know the trick for this?

TIA

If you're talking about the switches on the sides (top, locks, etc.) the whole thing that holds them in just pops off. You have to pry it out so be careful not to dent the edge when you're prying. Put something around a screwdriver end to help protect it. Once they're popped out, the wiring harnesses pop off from the back. Make sure the battery's disconnected before you pull the wires off.

Thanks for the reply...

I have the whole unit popped out with the window switches and the seat heat switches still in the unit (I didn't even think of battery before pulling the contacts off the switched but I think I will be ok and I don't have a radio code).

I need to pop the switches out of the ash tray unit and put them in the new unit...I know this "mod" has been done by many.

Never mind - it seems they pop right out with a little prying
