Help no sound after trying AVIC install

Hi,

I've purchased the double din kit on ebay and am trying to install the AVIC x940. Everything looked great but i am not getting any sound from the speakers. I checked online and people mentioned connecting the system remote control wire from amp harness to the ACC wire (or red/white one) but that didn't help either. Anybody have a clue what else I can try?

thanks

just to be sure, I understand completely right:
You're not getting any sound, no mater what audio source (AM/FM/CD/AUX) you've selected?

Correct, I've tried switching around and playing around. Still no sound. I took a look at the blue wire and it says "amp turn on" on it. I just don't see a "system remote control" wire on the avic harness to attach it to. I've tried connecting it to the red ACC and yellow Battery wire from the avic harness as well and still no sound. couldn't find anything on the avic411 forum either.
thanks

It sounds like your amplifier isn't turning on.

Check these instructions on Renntech: http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic/19616-porsche-boxster-avic-d3-installation-instructions/

I think you actually need to attach the blue wire on your Avic harness to the amp turn on wire in your Boxster, but double check the instructions to be sure. You will need to register on Renntech to see the instructions.

Good luck

From your signature I see that you that you have the 6 channel amp from a 996 - arghh my bad that wasn't YOUR signature (bliush)
- did this work before?

What I would do as a next step is to connect your rear speakers DIRECTLY to the AVIC's speaker out ports

If you hear something then it's something with the Porsche amp, if you still don't hear anything it's a problem with the AVIC

Hook it to the power antenna wire. It is switched.

Is that that the blue antenna control wire? I've tried that too. I've made an appointment with an installer next week if all else fails.

Not sure what color wire should say on radio wiring diagram. You need to hook a switched power to the amp power wire.

I had to play wire wiring from original radio as the colors were not correct.

I took it to a shop and they tested the amp. It receives power but is not turning on somehow? They said they will have to bypass it to make it work. Another $200, ugh. Thanks everyone for your help though.
