New 986 Boxster Website!

Hey everyone, I have been putting together a free website for the past year. I do not make any money off of it. I made it for myself to use as a reference for everything about the 986 and I have used it plenty of times as a reference. I also posted videos and articles on there like a blog. And now I am thinking of sharing it with everyone since it is pretty useful.

Technically, I am allowed to use your photo's, but if you want your cars photo off the site, let me know and I will remove it. The website will only be shared with you guys and pelicanparts. And again, I do not benefit or make money from the site.

I collected pictures from random threads. They are all good pictures and the license plates are not showing.

Here is the site. Let me know if you want me to take your cars' picture down and tell me which picture it is. If you know of what else I can add to it or how I can improve it, let me know. Especially in the "Maintenance and Repairs" Page.

Thanks and I hope you find the website useful.

One thing I noted in your list of estimates: The IMS Upgrade is not the same thing as the IMS Retrofit. It would cost more and require engine removal and disassembly for the upgrade to be done, and the cost would be more as a result. The IMS retrofit goes for about $1600 out the door at the local shop here that is certified by LN Engr. ~$620 for the IMS bearing and an RMS and the rest is labor @ $98/hr. Just something for you to use to update your info there.

I hope you also don't mind if I PM you with grammatical/spelling corrections and such. It's one of those things that always bugs me when I see a professional-looking site with typos and such. No offense meant by it.

Very interesting site so far, and the effort to consolidate information is definitely appreciated.

Thanks, go ahead and PM me the corrections. I kind of typed everything quickly and did not read over my grammar.

Very cool.

To alleviate some of the work for you, what I would suggest is setting up a general template for people to create their own submissions that they could send to you and then you could put it on the site. That would be awesome. I guess that's sort of the same thing as taking submissions from this forum though.

Very nice job!;)

Someone suggested I add the hours to the Maintenance and Repairs section to give people an idea of how long the job takes. I already added some. For others, I have no idea how long they take so feel free to let me know.

Also, when you look at the rims page, I do not have the name of every wheel.
The USARIMS are sold on usarim.com but i don't know if that is the brand name too.
I labeled a couple of other rims by ?? or generic if I did not know their brand name. So if you know the name, let me know.

I am also in the process of adding the maintenance schedule from my owners manual to the Maintenance and Repairs page to give potential buyers and those without owners manuals an idea of when they are supposed to check/replace what.

I'll work on getting you the same info from my manual for the 2.5...it's probably not terribly different, but just in case there are any differences in the pre-2000 schedule, you'll have it.
