Radio is Dead

Hey guys well I took my car on a nice 2 hour ride today and the radio did not unlock itself and let me re-enter the code in fact after reading the manual the wait message never came up.

to fill you in the dealer claimed when I picked the car up that a lot boy entered the wrong code when the changed the battery and locked the radio and that I'd have to wait 60 minutes to fix it.

I checked the fuse and everything looks good does anyone have any ideas on what this could be pressing the on button etc. doesn't do anything I'm going to call the dealer tomorrow unless you guys have any words of wisdom since this is their fault and they agreed to pay to fix it but it'll take me a day to drive out there so if anyone has some thoughts they're most welcome

If you have a CDR210 or CDR220, I know for a fact that there are two fuses on the unit... one in the fuse box near your left foot, and one in the back of the unit. My 210 had a bad habit of the fuse in the back of the head unit being loose and it was dead as a doornail until I pulled it, wiggled the fuse and then put it back in.

I finally removed the fuse, bent the two prongs one going one way and the other going the opposite way just so and jammed it back in there. That fixed the problem until I replaced the unit for good due to the CD player crapping out on me at the worst possible time.

Hope this helps!

Becker makes the Porsche radios and they are not good equipment.

Radio issues in '03 too

For the last two weeks my FM & AM reception is totally lost at random moments. It won't come back until I restart the car. Strange, huh? Good luck with your radio issue. I hope it's fixed without any drama.

Thanks for the help guys I'm going to pull the radio out tomorrow morning to check it and may just replace it because I'm not that fond of it to be honest
Cheers!

The good or bad news, is that most of us think the Becker unit is junk and so, it is easy to replace it.

In my experience, you can buy a Kenwood or Alpine unit for a modest sum that is much better in sound quality etc.

In fact, the Double units look kind of cool too!
