One of the local club members brought his CGT to the local Porsche shop last night (kudos to Doc's Grrage, good pizza and German beverages). Had a number of people show up and oggle the car. The engine bay is a work of art - one of the cleanest I've ever seen. Car looks great from any angle. Mid-engine, of course.
I sat in it - a little tight for me (6'4") and I was reluctant to mess with the seat and steering wheel settings.
Owner said it's a great car, though not necessarily suited as a daily driver - the front lip is a tad low. His daily driver - a twin turbo.

One can only wonder what his home looks like with $550k in automobiles in his garage!

Aren't you glad you don't have his auto insurance bills?

there was a story circulating that a Charlotte (?) CGT owner hit a cat, causing $20 grand or so damage to the front carbon fiber work -
imagine explaining that one to the insurance co.

one of my friend's customers has one and uses a 911 TT as a daily driver.
oh and he's got 18 other cars and bikes in a hangar. He's suing the President (of the USA) over some trade issue.
I think yo uhave to be nuts to drive a carbon fiber car as a daily driver. I have no idea how razor sharp broken bits of CF ever passed a crash test.
All of the original CGT owners had to buy sight unseens and from what I've read many would never have put down the money if they had been given a test drive.
This was never inteded to be a road car but Porsche only decided to sell it to the public after they scratched teh LeMans project which is back underway in ALMS in cooperation with Roger Penske.
The transmission sounds like that of a Mack Truck and suspension let's you feel every gap in the highway asphalt. That would get annoying every morning.

I don't know about you, but I wish I had the problem of driving a CGT to work. I wish I had to worry about 20k in damage if I hit a cat. My thought process is if I own a CGT, chances are money is not an object anymore.
