Weirdly enough, the original song is from an Italian soft-core porno movie called "Sweden - Heaven and Hell". Here is the link explaining the origins and incorporation into the Muppet song:
Either Jim Henson and his staff were in the dark as to the true origins of the song or they were perpetrating a clever inside joke for the adults "in the know" to enjoy while they were forced to listen to the Muppet songs ad nauseum.
RIP, JH!
Wow, we have a winner !!!!!!!!!! The song was written and produced by the Italian maestro Piero Umiliani for the sexploitation film - Svezia, inferno e paradiso (Sweden: Heaven and Hell). Good job Marburk ! PM me for your exclusive JD

I wanted to nominate a song with a bit of a classical bent;
Rob Dugan Will You Follow Me
Your best bet is to google it, the youtube video will pop right up. Fabulous for winding roads!
I first heard it on Top Gear, and used an iPhone app to identify it. Turned out I already had the CD. Note to self; listen to all the tracks.
That is really, really good. For a serious offering on driving music (because my next post will be in the "cheesy/groan" them on this thread), I also suggest any track from NFL Films "Autumn Thunder"
This should be perfect driving music for Johnny Danger (and any secret agents in training) - memorable lyrics from our youth, but with a more hip beat; Speed Yellow vehicle; and innuendo-laden lyrics.

Here is a techno-type track from Swedish muscian Bo ("Bosse") G. Eriksson from the group "E-Type Club." I used to listen to this while driving when I still had my '63 XKE roadster, for obvious reasons.
The song was originally recorded by the Canadian Pop Group "The Original Castle" in 1969. Coven recorded it in 1971 in the US and that version was featured in the film "Billy Jack" later that same year.
Is this turning into a throwdown to post the shlockiest songs/videos ever? Or was this whole thread just your master plan for almost a year to turn Boxster owners into Barbara Eden fans?
