I have owned my Boxster for over two years and driven every day.

Two things have not happend in 48k miles.

Never a puff of smoke at start up
Never burns any oil between the minor's

I asked my dealer once why this car isnt doing these things as expected?

His answer "Your not driving it hard enough" (jerk)

Regards

Your lead-in sentence (quoted above) explains why you haven't had any oil burning.

You've probably never let your car sit for a week or more. Next time you go on vacation and leave your boxster at home, ask someone else to fire it up the first time after a week of sitting in your garage and you may well see a little puff of smoke if you're standing behind the car looking for it.
