Center consol : Now it's just right

Hi, I've just completed fixing my center consol.

*I'll get a new AC unit sometime but for now it is good.

And this is what it used to look like.

Hi Andy, can't remember exactly... I think VW, Audi and Porsche share the same components. Got it off the web when searching for 'Boxster cup holders'. They fit great but am not sure if they are useful at all yet.

The real question is, What's on your hands?

Everything you touch is melting.

I pulled mine out recently, they have the Audi logo on them. I thought they were familiar. Same as my wheel and shift knob, Audi S4 clones!

haha! That is how I bought it.

It was also all covered in a greasy substance that I am having a hard time getting all off... I can only get a small bit off at a time.

Apparantly it was an old lady who only drove it to the grocery store on Saturdays and church on Sundays.

If you can't believe a used car salesman who can you believe ?

I believe the little old lady part...... it is a TIP after all j/k of course and nice work on cleaning her up.

For the interior "grease" (detailer dressing) try some microfiber clothes lightly dampened w/ a Dawn dish detergent / water mixture. Wipe down thoroughly and let sit for 30sec-1min. Then follow up w/ microfiber cloth just damp w/ water and dry using a third m/f cloth. Repeat if needed but this should remove the coating sufficiently.

Good luck

belkin also makes one. this is the one i have. love it. just the right size for the shorter plug. fits tightly and never slips / falls out. got mine from best buy for $20. lots cheaper elsewhere.
