Grease like substance on the interior
Hi,
When I received my Boxster I noticed that the interior was covered in a 'grease like' substance. What I think happened was either a detailer or the previous owner applied this to all the plastic parts of the interior as a 'finish'. This has left the finish greasy and somewhat sticky. It is hard to show this in a photo. Has anyone had this experience before ? What can be done about it ? I don't think soap and warm water is going to do the trick, any ideas ? Thanks Terry |
I'd wash with a dilute solution of car soap and water. Dry thoroughly. Finish with Aerospace 303 Protactant. Let the 303 sit for a day. If too shiny, give it one more dry wipe down.
You could also use a dilute solution of Lexol Leather Cleaner (orange bottle) and water, to wash the trim down. Finish your leather with Zaino Z10. |

You may need to wash more than once. Mild products are best. Don't want to be too aggressive. A quality leather cleaning brush will also make the job more efficient and better results:
