Trunk lid (Fix or Replace)

Hi, my trunk lid came with a aftermarket spoiler that was drilled into place. It didn't look too bad but I prefer it without.
My question is this, should I look to replace the lid or should I get it fixed (to remove the holes) and repainted ?
Which option is cheaper ?
Are there any other suggestions anyone has ?
I currently have plugged the holes to keep out the rain.
Thanks
Terry

Another option: swap trunk lids with someone who wants the spoiler?
Cost: $0

Nice! Good idea.

Would this be the right forum for that ... or craigslist ?

Right here in the Classifieds is a start -- I'd probably go to CL, too...

That spoiler was available as a factory option. Also as an aftermarket add on. You can remove it (4 bolts) and fill/paint the trunk for less than finding another trunk and painting it to match your car. It's already installed so you won't have to have it installed and then painted.

Hi,

I'm thinking of fiberglassing the underside of the trunk where the holes are and then applying bondo to the top to fill in the hole. Then sanding it down and getting it resprayed professionally.

Having never done this before, would you suggest that I attempt to do this ?

Are there any step by step instructions on doing this ?

Any gotchas I need to avoid ?

Thanks
Terry
