Newbie question? Broken lid hinges
 

I don't know if anyone ever has this problem. The hinges between the lid and the locked console is broken. The partial broken hinges are attached to the lid itself. How do I remove the broken pieces? I got a different center console but do not know how to reinsert the metal rod from the lid back into the hinges. Sorry if this sounds too confusing.
