Delayed Shifting when cold

99 Base Tiptronic

I've noticed a delay in shifting from 2nd to 3rd when the engine is cold. Once it reaches operating temp. (180-190) it shifts smoothly and without delay.

Also, when cold and shifting from 2nd to 3rd, there is a pause (for lack of a better term) almost like the transmission shifts twice between 2nd and third.

Again, when the engine is warmed up....no issues.

These things happen when the trans. is in Automatic and not in Manual.

Any ideas??

I suppose I should start with the transmission fluid and filter??

Thanks all

Hi John99, Hope you are doing OK ! Trans? I would change fluid and filter. Last week I had a shifting problem on one of my delivery vans. The Dealer changed fluid and added a "Conditioner "?????? But van now shifts fine. I DO NOT know about Porsche auto trans. I can send you to my Indy Porsche guy up Rt 17 (NewBern) ,or you can call him. Let me Know. Max
