Damaged my Front Bumper - Ugh!

2001 - 19,900 mile garage queen. I bought it new and won't drive it in the rain. I decided to stretch its legs and drove it to my daughter's home 185 miles away. A metal pipe came cart wheeling toward me a hit the front bumper.

I removed the bumper and will get it painted and reinstalled. I have a $1000 deductable so this is on my dime. I considered going to a 996 bumper but decided to keep the stock S bumper.

I was surprised at the amount of debris that had accumulated between the A/C condenser and the radiator.

Lucky

Your comprehensive should apply. Not collision. It appears you were lucky it didn't take out your hood as well.

Sorry bout the stroke of fate, they might need to remount that before they can perform the buffing. When I put the GT3 nose on, they painted it off but buffed it on because it's tough to apply the correct pressure when the piece is free and malleable.

Took it into a shop I have used before. $400 for repair, fill in the license plate holes and repaint. I checked one other place and they wanted $550. If this is the worst thing that happens all year, it will be a great year.

Not too bad. Google it and there are a lot of info and YouTube videos on it. About 2 on a 10 scale.

It's just a scratch... you don't drive it enough... life is short.

You're right on both counts! I just retired. I had 5 cars plus a company car. No company car and I sold the 993 turbo. With just four cars the Boxster should get driven more..... without the scratch.
