Which these two caps ????

I am not sure if my 986 is better with original center cap (cap1) or 987, cayenne cap (cap2)

Which do you prefer?

Personally, I prefer the subtlety of the Boxster. Cap 1

definately #2 the Cayenne caps. did you buy the Cayenne caps? how much? i have a Cayenne but i dont recall having those caps?

Perfectlap 08-01-2005 01:33 PM

you need a picture where you can see the whole car.
You know perspective and all..

Are the Cayenne caps plastic (like the Boxster colored centers) or metal?

I like both but the Cayenne caps may be too large when seen in proportion to the whole car.

both are plastic. cap2 is for cayenne and 987.

Perfectlap, here you have a pic of whole car with cap1.

One

Cap one. But I've been playing with the idea of changing to the silver and black cap. #2 Looks disproportionate.

I think you should replace the rusty lug nut first.

Neither cap is pointed to the valve stem. Also your locking wheel bolt is not in the correct location, and looks like it has rust.

Points off.

valcax 08-05-2005 05:25 AM

Please tell me correct position, i DOnt understand what you mean.

Tool pants, I sent you a PM...

When the car arrives from the manufacturer, does the bottom of the Porsche crest on each wheel cap "point" to the tire valve?

Or is that something that hard-core afficionados have invented. (You know, like the screw head slots on light switch and wall socket face plates are supposed to be at 6/12 vertical.)
