Anybody re-finished their interior plastic?

The one thing I just do not like about the boxster is the cheap finish that's on the plastic interior parts. It scratches off too easily and makes the whole interior look bad.

I recently re-finished my plastic 928 shift cap with some clear coat spray made just for plastic finishing and guaranteed not to yellow over time. It came out very nice, but the cap is only $20 to replace so I was willing to risk it.

I would like to sand all of the nasty texture coating that comes off so easily and clear coat it to improve the interior look.

Has anyone done this?

If nobody has done it, what small part would you recommend me trying first? Something that is easy to remove and not as visible would be great to start with, but I have not removed very many interior parts before.

Thanks!

Ok, I figured out which part to do first if nobody has done this. The fuse panel pops off easily and it's hidden if it doesn't turn out perfect.

I'd still like to know if you've tried this, and how it turned out.
