78 Retired industrial engineer. 42 year Porsche owner, 3 356's, 1 914, 1 912, & 2 911's. Current car is a 2004 S. Likes: Quiet & smooth driver, comfortable, fast, great touring car. Dislikes: Nowhere close to a 911 in driving feel, brute force driving techniques. Also, extremely dislike all the "mods" the Boxter crowd is obsessed with, e.g. plastic snowplow front bumpers, silly decals and bling wheels. All that does is turn a well designed car into a boulevard freak. My 2 cts worth.

I agree, no reason to unreasonably modify a boxster, albeit i assume it's an eastern thing, as here in southern california the majority of owners keep their boxster pretty stock with exception to lighting (if not litronic) and stereo enhancements (most bose systems are dead by now).

I am 58 years old. I operate the bulk electrical transmission system. I also own and operate a stained glass studio. Currently enjoying a 98 base unit with 87,000 miles. I had a 914, BC (before children). We went through the VW,Jeep,Japanese and big truck phases. Throw in a few boats and bikes. I must say the Porsche's have been my favorite four wheel internal combustion smile inducers of them all.

53 years, consultant to the broadcast industry, software trainer, systems integrator.
Started with Harley-Davidson motorcycles and American muscle cars in my teens and early 20's, then onto British sports cars in my late 20's - early 30's. Married with four kids late 30's - late 40's, back to Harley's (2005 CVO SE V-Rod & 2001 Road King), at 53 back to sports cars this time Porsche. Almost purchased an '86 911 Cabriolet in 2011 nice car but I am glad I waited and purchased a Boxster. One drive is all it took.....

It's spelled Boxster...with an "s"
Most old people don't like what the "kids" are doing these days. It will be ok

"older" or "senior" is more appropriate

Great, considering the average age of well over 60 in this thread, I feel young again at 52!

Well, in that case, I feel like a zygote
It's the same at some of the PCA gatherings, people there have children my age!

43 years old... Regional Manager for a retail company
I bought my '97 base about 2 months ago and am having a blast making her my own. I've wanted a Porsche since I was old enough to speak and now I have one. When the kids leave the house (in other words, when I'm not broke), we'll see what the next Porsche will be.
