Airbag Light

I have read all the post regarding the airbag light coming on. My 98 boxster just had the light come on. I am the third owner and I know from service history that the buckels have been replaced at least once. The light dosent concern me much but I was curious about getting the light reset. I contacted a Porsche repair shop in Santa Rosa, Calif and they quoted me $98 to get the error code and reset the light. Is there anyway I can reset the code myself? The repair shop also quoted me $1000 {at minimum} for the proper fix. Appreciate the help
Thanks
Bill

Have the seats been removed lately? That's what caused mine to come on, not the buckle problem.

I don't think there's a way to turn it off yourself. Sounds like your dealer is robbing you. Wish I could make $98 for 2 minutes of work.

Call a local "Porsche Specialist" shop. They'll probably do it for a couple of bucks because they want your business where the dealer thinks you are lucky to have him rob you blind.

I'm going to plug my AutoTap in this weekend and see if it will turn it off. I'll let you know what happens.
