Man, not many low-fat choices in the poll... :D

Given insufficient funds for a Boxster I'd gladly drive those cars over an Accord or Camry. Fortunately, I won't have to worry about this once my Grand Boxster Plan (TM) comes into fruition later this summer.

don't let insufficient funds rob you of your dream car. Do what I did!

Holy crap, Randall!! Did that site actually help you get your car!?

RandallNeighbour 07-17-2005 01:15 PM

I got about $75 bucks off it. One kid saw the link on Xanga.com TWO MONTHS AGO after I'd had the car for 11 months and paypal'd me $20! Mostly friends and relatives donated to tell you the truth. But there were a few total strangers. I'd have made far more if someone had sent the site into a radio station or if it got a big promotion.

I tell you what though... no one I know thought I'd have the balls to do something so shameless.

I put it up as a joke thinking if an idiotic college kid could wrack up 25k in credit card debt being stupid and get total strangers to donate to them, people would donate to my cause because it's worthy...yes, WORTHY.

I bet a few of the members of this forum would have given me a buck to realize my dream! OK, maybe not, but it's a happy thought I'm holding on to so no one post that they think I'm out of my mind, ok?

I tell you what. You put up a similar site, and I will donate to your worthy cause. It's the least I can do. Remember that movie with the little boy who told everyone to pay it forward? :)

Rail26 07-17-2005 01:39 PM

I didn't know anyone had the balls to do that...totally tasteless. I love it!

I see someone went with the tub of butter option on the poll...wow! A true Solstice hater.

 Wow, very resourceful!

I like your page on maintenance/repair hints & tips! I'm sure many people will find it useful.

Glad you enjoyed it. I decided to put that page up after reading the same nubie questions over and over and realizing I asked them too!

Now all I have to do is get it recongnized through the search engines by having lots and lots of people link to it.

What could possibly be better than owning a Porsche? Love that page :D

Well done......

I already enjoy a good Crisco/Jalepeno milkshake... is that weird?
At least I drive a Boxster

RandallNeighbour 07-18-2005 02:24 PM

John, I knew we were kindred spirits. Good to know another brother who drives a boxster is here!

Rail26 07-18-2005 07:05 PM

I knew you guys were out there! I was starting to get concerned with the Solstice/Miata conversations. Keep the faith!

I completely agree friends...

Rail, you can be sure one will have his faith challenged by this world. I just hoped it never came down to asking me to drive another domestic car. Doh!

"Oh God, please oh please don't make me drive a Pontiac. Amen"

Now, like Paul, I'd be happy with a lot and happy with a little, but I gotta tell you, I think that word "happy" could easily be defined as REAL happy (Porsche) or GRIN AND BEAR IT happy (non-Porsche).
