Once in a while, I have experienced a very mild push back from the gear box when moving back in the gate to gears four and six. I also have had troubles on the track when things are getting really hot. It has been suggested to me that this might the shifter cables on top of the engine getting hot. Have a look at that section of cable to ensure nothing has melted.

...check your oil level too
