Key Remote

I have a 2003 base boxster. I got two keys for it when I purchased it. Both are regular keys that have the black remote (top) for opening doors etc. Both are falling apart. Can I purchase these separately or does it require going to the dealer and reprogramming? I tell you for advanced as a porsche is you would think they would have a lot better key system than the large key that doesn't contract etc. thanks much

If its just the part of the cover that has the rubber pads, you can replace that part separately. I think sun coast has them.

If its more than that, then I believe you can source the whole key head, and just replace the innards and blade from your existing keys.

Sun Coast, does sell them, you get the whole shell with new rubber buttons, minus the Porsche emblem for around $30.00, and if you want a new emblem for $11.00. This is + or -, a couple of bucks. I did this about 2 years ago and it's perfect.
