Extended Warranty Vs 2nd Engine

Dear Porsche owners.
Once Randall mentioned, that 2nd Party Warrant providers would find any possibility not to pay you. And this seems to be true, at least what I could found through the literature and resources. And lets face it, we can afford so solve many possible mechanical problem, but one ENGINE FAILIRE. However I was looking thought EBay, you can find pretty decent motors for ~1000-2000 dollars, and it will be all yours. There will be no lawyer trying to screw you, no tensions, but solid transplant in your garage. How much to change this in case of emergency, 1-2ks, if it will ever happen. So could you please tell is my reasoning for not to buy warranty is logical and realistic.
Thank you all in advance for participating.
Sincerely yours
zagit

I would question someone selling a good Boxster motor for 1-2000 dollars.....Seems a tad on the cheap side....

Watch out!!

Definitely beware. There are a couple of scam artists on eBay who sell 928s that don't exist. They have valid VINs to make it look real.

There are a couple of things that tip you off. First is the "Buy It Now" price is less than half the value of the high ticket item they are advertising. You can start an auction off at a ridiculously low price, but if you can buy it immediately for way under book there's something wrong. The other is they want a Western Union transfer or cash only within a few days and won't allow you to use an escrow company to hold payment until you get the goods. They say you can go pick it up and bring the cash, but it's usually too difficult to do such a thing within the payment period. If you happen to be able to get there, they don't show.

Ditto on EBAY caution. That is way too cheap for a good Box motor.
